About
About Our NGO
Social Justice for Poverty Alleviation in Our Communities is an NGO that believes that through sharing we build a more equitable society, reducing poverty, creating opportunities in our communities, and building our fellow men and women up. To us, anyone can share. One doesn’t have to be rich, you just have to start. Currently we operate in the USA and Ghana, West Africa.
Social Justice for Poverty Alleviation in Our Communities is managed by a 3 member board who individually have: 20+ experience in international development in West Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean; 20+ years in finance and accounting and a Charter Public Accountant (CPA); 30+ years in tertiary education.
We began with small amounts of money of our own, and from 2017-2020 donated US$17,000 in the areas of health, education, street ministry and homelessness. It started as a test, to see what we could achieve by ourselves, with what we had.
To be impactful, the funds are put as close as possible into the recipients’ hands. We operate through carefully selected, honest and transparent people who are motivated by mission and not by any financial reward (in fact none have required payment). Sometimes we operate through other NGOs that we know, trust and who are making a real impact eg: Teach for Ghana and Charlie’s Place in the US.
